Follow up to "I'm Clever I am"

I finally managed to get a photo of the sign sometime back and in fact the school was the Peculiar Child Academy. Since this photo was taken it's gone upmarket and is now the International Peculiar Child Academy!

I'm clever I am...

At least thats no doubt what the person was thinking who designed a sign for a school we passed a couple of weeks back. They had obviously got out a thesaurus and thought whats another good word for "Outstanding" or "Excellent"???? So what did they settle on I hear you ask? Well the school was called the School for Peculiar Children (or something to that effect)..... :-)

Don't Panic Mr. Mainwaring!

The back page headline today on one of (if not the most) important national newspapers was "JAK Foundation Plague Unveiled" What!!!? Have Ghana delved in to the business of biological warfare? Has some new nasty emerged from the jungles Ebola like? No....thankfully it's just another typo :-) It was in fact a plaque unveiling ceremony to comemorate the ground breaking for building a new library and museum!

Menu Typo's.........Hopefully!

You have to love the joy of reading a menu in a foreign country in a cheap hotel.......English is supposed to be the first language here in Ghana but recent menu delights include Becon, Chateau Brian and the piece de la resistance Bugger bread.....the mind boggles. Mind you I've seen whippet cream on a menu in Rotterdam.....do you think it's made or harvested?

Three Steps to Heaven

In the Netherlands those three steps would be of uniform size but almost certainly a peculiar size designed in such a way that you cannot walk up or down the steps comfortably, that or they would be inordinately steep, akin to the North face of the Eiger. In Ghana all the three steps would be of different heights....judging by the building standards I've seen since living in Ghana.
